The Triumph Of AJ Quartermaine
Chapter Thirty Two
Jason part II
"NOW?! You want to leave now?" Carly exclaims making a motion with her hands as if pulling her hair out. "I've wanted to leave for months ever since I came home to you working as mechanic and living in the wicked witch's house in the woods. And NOW, now that my live is starting to resemble something close to NORMAL with my mother and brother. I'm getting along with Emily. YOU WANT TO LEAVE?!"
"Yeah, I want to leave." Jason restates calmly.
"No. Uh uh-- no way." Carly starts shaking her head. "I'm not going to leave everyone I care about so that I can live were I know nobody and have a felony warrant on my head for custodial interference. Jason, AJ knows that he is Michael's biological father, HE HAS CUSTODY for goodness sake! We go to court in two days. We can't pretend anymore that he isn't."
Jason shrugs. "They'd never find us. What the judge decides is irrelevent. You would never have to worry about anything ever again."
"I'm not worrying about anything NOW. Jason, I'm fine; how can you tell Emily, your sister, Michael has two fathers and then pull a disappearing act?"
"Carly, you know that what ever AJ is giving you; I'll match."
"You son of a bitch. You think this is about the MONEY?" Carly's face is flushed with fury.
"Whatever you want, Carly. If not the money, then what?" Jason is confused, feeling that Carly had just changed the rules of their relationship.
"I want to give Lucas riding lessons. I want to go to estate sales with my mother. I want my son to have access to BOTH of his fathers. I want to be able to go anywhere with my son without looking over my shoulder for either the law or another kidnapping. I want a lot of things. Things that I have been searching for since I found out I was adopted, since I came to Port Charles from Florida. I thought that I had that with you but I was deluding myself. I'm not blaming you I set the whole thing up and I'm sorry it's come back to bite us both in the butt but I can't do it anymore."
"You said that we're a family." Jason reminds.
"And we ARE, nothing is going to change that. This is what you wanted back when I got out of Ferncliffe: JOINT CUSTODY and me being comfortable around Michael. Nobody is excluding you from Michael's life, Jason, and it'll be over my dead body if they try-- AJ knows that. I get to try to make a life for myself. One without all the drama and lies, it'll be a stretch I know, but I have to try. What do YOU want, Jason? You didn't want Michael to be raised at the mansion-- well he's not. You didn't want him going to boarding school-- he's not. He has your name and he always will. You can't tell me you want to leave Port Charles and all the people that you have here: Sonny, Mike, Emily?"
"No, but I would do it for Michael." Jason flatly states.
"Michael is fine. You saw him yesterday. I know you did. If I thought that AJ was in cahoots with the old man, or trying to cut us our of our son's life, I'd be on the first plane out of here with or without you. But that is not what is going on. What do you WANT?" Carly demands. Jason has no answer. Carly shakes her head. "I'll see you on Wednesday, Jason." Gathering her bags together she starts for the door. Clumsily she opens the door, but Jason leans over her shoulder to push the door shut again. Carly drops her suitcases narrowly avoiding his feet.
He presses against her sliding his hands down her arms as he turns her around and presses her against the door. His right hand comes up to cup her face and his mouth covers hers. Carly parts her lips and the kiss deepens. Carly's hands come up automatically to Jason's shoulders sliding one hand to the base of his neck. Her eyes close and she gives a muffled moan surrendering to his embrace. Jason's fingers unhook the buttons of Carly's blouse with a practiced ease. The heat of his hand sets her afire from the top button to the bottem then against her bare skin. Spreading his attention from her mouth, Jason trails kisses down her neck to her shoulder. Carly's breathing is ragged and rushed. His hand comes up to cup her lace covered breast then slides down to the waistband of her skirt, shivers chase up her spine as the back of his hand brushes against her bare stomach.
"Carly..." Jason mumbles. He kisses her again and again. Wrapping his arms around her he picks her up. Carly's legs wrap around Jason's waist drawing him to the heat of her. Jason looks over her shoulder and sees the nearest flat surface, the desk that had never been taken upstairs after Carly had been shanghai'd from the doctor's office. Sliding Carly onto the desk he then slides both hands up her skirt bringing it up above her knees. Carly reaches for Jason's belt buckle fumbling to unhook it.
"Jason..." Sonny says from the half opened door walking in. Looking over he closes his eyes and shakes his head. "AH HELL. Nevermind I was just leaving." But before he can withdraw Carly is already pushing Jason away and brushing down her skirt.
"I can't believe I just did that-- stupid, stupid, stupid." Carly mutters sliding behind Jason to tie her blouse in a knot out of Sonny's view. "That's it; I'm out of here." Picking up her suitcases she rushes to the open door. Jason snags her arm.
"Carly wait." Jason pleads.
Carly shrugs off his hand. "I've been waiting for the last three years. It's too late, Jason. I'll see you on Wednesday." Carly takes a deep breath before turning to Sonny. "Well we finally meet, Mr Corinthos. Perfect timing-- thanks for the rescue." Looking behind Sonny she sees that Johnny is back and stepping off the elevator. Suddenly she dodges Sonny and within seconds she is in the elevator dropping her suitcases and frantically pushing the down button. The doors close before Sonny or Jason can get a hand in.
"Jase, we can have her stopped in the lobby."
"No, Let her go but this isn't over. "
"I could tell." Sonny laughs briefly before growing serious. "Sorry man, I should have knocked or something. So that's Carly?"
"That's Carly."
